MCR open new office in Birmingham
Corporate restructuring and recovery specialist MCR has opened its first office in the Midlands. Based in the heart of the city, the new office is located at 35 Newhall Street, Birmingham B3 3PU.
MCR has also appointed John Whitfield as managing partner for the office. John has 20 years experience in the corporate restructuring and recovery market, most recently as National Head of the Asset Based Lending group at two leading UK firms.
In addition to developing a strong reputation for advice to the Asset Based Lenders, John has developed solid relationships with all the major banks during his career. Furthermore, John has also acted for directors and shareholders of distressed businesses providing successful solutions to a wide range of financial problems. These solutions have included ensuring that buy-in is achieved from all major stakeholders by using a variety of solutions, including Company Voluntary Arrangements, Accelerated M&A, Creditor assisted Management Buy-outs and insolvency solutions
His experience spans a number of industry sectors including Automotive, Transport and Logistics, Manufacturing, Technology, Property, Retail, Professional Sports Clubs Nightclubs, Pubs and Restaurants and Publishing.
The news of the expansion comes soon after MCR's entry into this year's Accountancy Age Top 50+50 survey. For the first time in its 9-year history MCR entered the Top 50, ranked at 27 having reported a 20.7% increase in UK fees year on year.
